Young GLOW mountain biker riding with her coach in the Chamonix valley

GLOW Bike School

RIDING FOR girls, EVERY WEDNESDAY.

A mountain bike progression cycle for girls aged 3 to 11, led by our state-certified coaches. Two age groups, eight girls max per group: they learn handling, independence and above all the joy of riding together — in small groups, at their own pace, with no competition.

Two seasons, one thread

A CYCLE THAT FOLLOWS THE SEASONS.

The Bike School runs as a cycle: every Wednesday builds on the one before. Two blocks a year, autumn and spring, so nobody ever starts from scratch again. We meet every week at the Maison Nordique in the Chamonix valley: 9:00-10:30 for the 3-6 year-olds, 10:30-12:00 for the 7-11 year-olds.

Autumn block

September → November

We build the handling basics on the valley trails, learning to read the terrain and manage brakes, balance and corners.

  • Body position and braking
  • Simple obstacles
  • Basic bike maintenance

Spring block

April → June

We step it up: more technical trails, endurance, and a longer ride at the end of the cycle to put it all together.

  • Technical trails
  • Endurance and pacing
  • Final mountain ride

The progression

WHAT DOES A WEDNESDAY LOOK LIKE?

  1. 01

    Welcome & bike check

We check bikes and helmets together: tyre pressure, brakes, saddle height. They learn to do it themselves.

  2. 02

    Skills workshop

One theme per session: braking, cornering, obstacles, descending position. Playful drills, never any pressure.

  3. 03

    Trail ride

We apply the day's theme on the valley trails, in a small group matched to their level.

  4. 04

    Debrief & snack

We look back on what we learned, share the day's wins, and leave with a goal for next week.

Our approach

GIRLS TOGETHER, AT THEIR OWN PACE.

Small groups
Two age groups (3-6 and 7-11), eight girls max per group: every rider gets coach time and rides at her true level.
Personalization
Every session is tailored to each girl's level and personality. The day's theme becomes bespoke drills, never a forced routine.
Diversity
Varied terrain, games and themes every Wednesday so the bike stays a joy and a field of discovery, not a habit.
State-certified coaches
Led by our certified cycling instructors, members of the French Cycling Instructors' Union. Sessions run in both French and English.
Equipment
No suitable mountain bike for your daughter? We help you choose the right one and guide you through the purchase — a well-fitted, well-set bike is the foundation.

What an incredible experience! My 8yo discovered the joy of biking and found her confidence through her week with GLOW — she now begs for bike days and asks for more.
